Nicky returned to photography full–time in 2003 after a career in brand communications & design. A founder member of 24photography during study at Central Saint Martins, Nicky has worked commercially and exhibited internationally since then. Her work has become increasingly urban and graphic in its aesthetic, and progressively autobiographical in content, not least through the 24 project. Influences from painting and film making inform her as much as photographic references. Light, composition and structure are her priorities, enabling her to access a broad range of subject matter. The last 16 years have seen exhibitions in London, Toronto, Madrid, Naples, Venice and Cape Town. Clients include Eurostar, Vodafone, Network Rail, RA Magazine, Time Out, ESPN, Cable & Wireless. Nicky lives and works in Cape Town, where she exhibits personal work and shoots both editorial and corporate projects. She consults in brand strategy with a focus on visual identity.
