Sabes Sugunasabesan

Sabes Sugunasabesan is a photographic artist living in England. He migrated from Sri Lanka over four decades ago. His photography concerns where he is from and where he is. Urban landscapes and the past and present of the country and people he left behind shape his photographic art. He explores sense of place, belonging, identity, memory and emotions through his work.

In 2018 he exhibited his latest body of work ‘Last Walk to the Beach’; his response to the brutal civil war in Sri Lanka that ended in 2009 as he experienced from the distance of time and space.

He has exhibited in London and Toronto.
